1. Introduction
Bottle Vault, including the Bottle Vault app at mybottlevault.app and the Bottle Vault website at bottlevault.co (together, "the Service"), is operated by Lake Life Digital LLC ("we", "us"). The Service helps you track your own personal spirits collection — organizing bottles by shelf, recording fill levels from photos, and browsing a shared reference catalog of common bottles.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms"), together with our Privacy Statement, govern your use of the Service. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you confirm you've read and agree to be bound by both.
2. The Service & Age Requirement
Bottle Vault is an inventory-tracking tool, not a marketplace or a retailer — we don't sell alcohol, and the Service doesn't provide any way to buy or sell bottles between users.
Because Bottle Vault is built around tracking alcohol, every account must belong to someone of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction (21 or older in the United States). We ask for your date of birth when you first sign in and won't let an account proceed without it — this is enforced at the database level, not just checked once in the app. By using the Service you confirm you meet this requirement.
3. License to Use the Service
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own inventory tracking. This license doesn't include the right to: resell or provide commercial access to the Service; scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy the shared bottle catalog; reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the Service's source code; or use the Service for anything other than its intended personal purpose.
We may make the Service temporarily unavailable for maintenance or updates. We'll try to give notice when we reasonably can, but can't guarantee uninterrupted availability.
4. Accounts
Creating an account requires an email address (used for one-time sign-in codes — there's no password to manage) and, per the age requirement above, your date of birth. A display name is optional. You're responsible for keeping access to your own email account secure, since that's what controls access to Bottle Vault, and for the accuracy of the information you provide. Please use one account per person.
5. Free Trial & Subscriptions
New accounts start with a free 30-day trial, limited to 25 bottles. Beyond the trial, Bottle Vault offers paid plans at increasing bottle-collection sizes (currently Small Batch, Single Barrel, Cask Strength, and Master Distiller); exact pricing and availability are shown in the app and may change from time to time. Paid subscriptions are billed and processed through Stripe, our payment processor — see our Privacy Statement for what that involves. You can manage or cancel an active subscription at any time from within the app; canceling stops future billing but doesn't delete your existing bottle data.
6. Acceptable Use
Use Bottle Vault only for its intended purpose: tracking your own collection. Don't use it to store unlawful content, attempt to access another user's account or data, submit false or offensive entries to the shared bottle catalog, or interfere with the Service's normal operation (including attempting to bypass rate limits, trial limits, or access controls).
7. Your Content
Photos, notes, and other details you add to your own bottles, shelves, and wishlist remain yours. Unlike a public review or social platform, nothing you add to your personal inventory is shown to other users or made public — you're not granting us any broad license to publish, redistribute, or otherwise exploit it. We use it only to operate the Service for you: storing it, displaying it back to you, and (for photos) compressing/resizing it for efficient storage.
The shared bottle catalog (names, brand photos, general product info) is different — it's reference data we curate and maintain, not user-generated content, and we don't guarantee its accuracy (release specs like age statement or proof can vary, and small/independent producers are researched on a best-effort basis).
8. Suspension & Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We don't currently offer a self-service "delete my account" button — contact us using the details below and we'll process a full deletion, which removes your account and every bottle, shelf, photo, and list you own; this can't be undone.
We may suspend or disable your account if you violate these Terms, use the Service unlawfully or in bad faith, or if we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to protect the Service, other users, or ourselves. We'll try to notify you via the email on your account.
9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Service, including the shared bottle catalog, is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Nothing here excludes liability that can't legally be excluded (for example, liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our gross negligence).
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lake Life Digital LLC isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
10. Miscellaneous
We may add, change, or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms as the app evolves — material changes will update the date at the top of this page, and continued use after a change means you accept it. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect; if we don't enforce a provision on one occasion, that's not a waiver of it later. These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
