Privacy Statement

Lake Life Digital LLC ("we", "us") operates Bottle Vault, including the Bottle Vault app at mybottlevault.app and the Bottle Vault website at bottlevault.co. This Privacy Statement explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.

Short version: we collect what's needed to run your inventory and account, we don't sell your data, and we don't share it beyond the service providers listed below who help us operate Bottle Vault.

Information We Collect

  • Account information — your email address (used to send one-time sign-in codes), an optional display name, and your date of birth (required to confirm you're of legal drinking age).
  • Your inventory data — the bottle, shelf, wishlist, and shopping-list entries you create: names, brands, photos you upload, notes, purchase details, and fill levels.
  • Billing information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor Stripe collects and stores your card details directly; we never see or store your full card number. We keep a Stripe customer/subscription reference so we know which plan you're on.
  • Usage & technical data — collected automatically through the analytics tools described below.

Analytics

We use privacy-focused analytics to understand how Bottle Vault is used so we can improve it. We do not use Microsoft Clarity or any tool that records your screen, clicks, or keystrokes. Instead:

  • Plausible Analytics — a privacy-first, cookie-free website analytics tool. It reports aggregate traffic patterns (like page views) without tracking you individually or building an advertising profile.
  • PostHog — a product analytics tool that helps us understand which features people use, so we can prioritize what to build next.

Neither tool is used for advertising, and we don't sell the data they collect to anyone.

Cookies

Plausible doesn't use cookies at all. PostHog may use a cookie or similar local storage to recognize your browser across a session. We don't use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

How We Use Your Information

To authenticate you and run your account; to store and display your inventory back to you; to send sign-in codes and account-related email (via Postmark); to process payments and enforce trial/plan limits; to understand and improve how the Service is used (via the analytics above); and to respond when you contact us. We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Where Your Data Is Stored & Who We Share It With

Bottle Vault relies on a small number of infrastructure providers, each of which only receives what it needs to do its job:

  • Supabase (hosted in the United States) — account authentication and database storage
  • Cloudflare R2 — storage for bottle and catalog photos
  • Postmark — delivering sign-in codes and account email
  • Netlify — application hosting
  • Stripe — payment processing for paid plans
  • Plausible and PostHog — usage analytics (see above)

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce these Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Lake Life Digital LLC, our users, or others. If Bottle Vault or its assets are ever sold or transferred, your information may transfer as part of that.

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual bottles, shelves, or wishlist/shopping-list items at any time from within the app, which removes that data immediately. We don't currently offer a self-service "delete my account" button — see Access & Deletion below for how to request full account deletion.

Access & Deletion

To request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete your account entirely, contact us at the email below. Account deletion removes your profile and every bottle, shelf, photo, wishlist item, and shopping-list item you own — this can't be undone. If applicable law (for example, the EU/UK GDPR) gives you additional rights over your data, we'll honor those on request as well.

International Users

Bottle Vault is operated from the United States and our infrastructure providers process data there. If you use the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US.

Children's Privacy

Bottle Vault is not directed at children and isn't intended for use by anyone under the legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Statement

We may update this Privacy Statement as the app evolves. Material changes will update the date at the top of this page.
